jaws intersept and vista

greetings all my girlfriend has an unusual issue.
she has installed jaws version 9.126 on her vista. jaws on this system, use to run withouth any problems. recently when the system has restarted and jaws is called up the menus open but their is no jaws speech. she uninstalled jaws restarted her computer and reinstalled jaws. now what seems to happens is jaws will load but their is still no voice. when going in with narrator the jaws menus come up but it shows the vidio intersept is disabled. any ideas. btw her system is a duel core system many thanks for any help.
