You can use the tab key to bypass the edit field to the next link on the page.

yes, I used PC cursor (numpad plus) to try and get out of forms mode, but
that didn't work. the escape trick seemed to, but then again I still couldn't
arrow through past the edit box. I'm going to play with it some more, I
think...
