I have not seen the echo thing since about Jaws 3.0. It is a weird thing
but rebooting the computer always made it go away.

Lenny, try uninstalling your previous Jaws version and see what happens.
Sometimes I've gotten the echo effect when two versions were present.

Hi,
This is quite interesting. Since I installed 8.0on two occasions jaws
started as if it was in an echo chaimber.
I think that there two copies launched. What is weird that say line or say
word is ok. Next or previous and say all echos.
I did an insert f4 and one copy of jaws stopped. Jaws still talked a little
but I really could nothing with the computer. a reset corrects the problem.
As I said this happened twice only since 8.0.
I am using xp home with all updates?
