You can use a wireless keyboard with Jaws. The problem with drivers can be avoided by not installing the software that comes with the keyboard. Just plug it in and use like a normal keyboard. You may need to press a "connect" button on the keyboard or receiver to get the keyboard to talk to your computer but it should work out of the box.

The drivers are actually for the multimedia keys and shortcut keys at the top of the keyboard. Some times the program that makes them work conflicts with the Jaws keyboard handler.

I have an older Logitech cordless keyboard connected to my HP computer. The HP has software preinstalled to manage HP keyboard soft buttons. Sometimes Jaws has a problem with the HP software but it has nothing to do with the keyboard.

I was actually surprised that the soft keys on my Logitech work with the HP software. They must be compatible with each other.

Heello all, just talked with the FS techs about getting a wireless
keybord and mouse. They told me that this was not a good idea. For there
might be a driver issue that causes problems with jaws, does anyone use a
wireless keybord or mouse out there. If so please give us some details
on your success.

Hello Tony

Are you still having any problems using your Microsoft wireless keyboard
with jaws? If so, what kind of problems are you having with this
wireless keyboard? On the other hand, do you find this Microsoft
wireless keyboard you have works really good with jaws to do all the
things you do on the computer? If you could please get back to me when
it is convenient to let me know, I would be very much appreciative as I
am shopping around to see which least expensive wireless keyboard works
great with Jaws. Thanks.

Happy surfing

Hi guys, I'm running jaws 8 with a Microsoft wireless keyboard, Windows
XP Home Edition, and my screen resolution is set to highest. While
reading through text or arrowing through a list or even now as I'm typing
this message jaws will interrupt itself and say "clear." It's quite
annoying. Has anyone had this issue, and if yes, is there a solution?
Thank you for any replies, and Happy Holidays to all of you.
