Well, I can say from actuall experience that AMD processors are great, but they eat your battery like there is no tommorrow. I know this because my two cousins both have the exact model of netbook but one has an intel and the other has an AMD one. The AMD one's battery only lasts around 2 to 3 hours of battery while the intel goes for 5 to 6 hours of battery time. Other than that, I have no other comments about the AMD processors. I could say much to this, but will not out of respect for those who have contributed their constructive ideas and tips to this list. Furthermore, this is not the list for flaming! Enough said. This morning the Wall Street Journal confirmed that netbook production is down. Now you're saying "Don't pay attention" to his experience? You have a lot to contribute, but you're also often wrong. I wish you'd show more respect. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of The Elf Sent: Thursday, March 24, 2011 11:15 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: jaws 11 and net books and my opinion is don't pay attention to this, ah netbook two processors available, and only one is a winner... elf Moderator, Blind Access Help Owner: Alacorn Computer Enterprises Specialists in customized computers and peripherals - own the might and majesty of a Alacorn! www.alacorncomputer.com proprietor, The Grab Bag, for blind computer users and programmers http://grabbag.alacorncomputer.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2011 4:41 PM Subject: Re: jaws 11 and net books also do not by a netbook with the ATOM processor! Look for one without crap software. If your options are limited, go with one that 1 have a confortable keyboard to type. That includes all the keys you want. 2 Try to get one wiout crap software like hp media, hp security, sony disk whatever. The less software instal on it, the better. and 3, try to look for one with at least a 2GB ram and an intel procesor. AMD is great, but they eat your battery like there is no tomorrow. Also you will have to set jaws to a laptop keyboard. It is a learning curve. ----- Original Message ----- From: carlos g To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, March 22, 2011 6:39 PM Subject: jaws 11 and net books Hi list, My name is Carlos I am new to the list.
