Hi,
That is right - you can run a 32-bit Windows on a 64-bit CPU but not vice
versa. The effective solution would have been using a 32-bit version of
Windows 7 - rolling back to 32-bit OS from a 64-bit OS requires complete
reinstall.
Also, according to my research, 32-bit programs will work with 64-bit
operating systems with slower performance. However, because of the driver
issues (64-bit Windows cannot use 32-bit drivers), JAWS 32-bit cannot be run
under 64-bit Windows.

Is your laptop a 64 or 32 bit machine? If it is a 32 bit computer, that
could explain the problems you were having. From what I understand, you
can't install 64 bit Windows on a 32 bit machine. If I'm wrong about this,
someone please correct me.

I got a copy of windows 7 64 bit over the weekend and decided to put
it on my laptop at home. I got it installed and it seemed ok. When I
installed jaws I was surprised to learn that the only displays you can use
are the pacmate, power braille, and the focus. They may have been one more
but anyway its only fs displays. I have 3 displays an alva 380
Braillex
And braillenote and c an't use any of these with 64 bit windows.
Now I have lost to install keys and a lot of time. I am forced to go back
to vista which I hate and will have to deal with the dread request to reset
my auth count.
