Hi, Judith: Your centering problem is an easy one. When you select text to be centered, be sure it does not contain a carriage return. When a carriage return is included in the text to be centered, Word will then carry centering on throughout the entire section or until two carriage returns are encountered. If you do end up with the whole document centered, just select the entire document with ctrl-a and then press ctrl-l to left justify the selected text. Your margin problem sounds like you may have been working with a centered document which may have come about by centering text with a carriage return in it. In that case, each line will start at a different point on the line. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure about your spacing problem. Hope this helps. Take care... I am working on MS word 2000. Yesterday I ran off a copy of something I have to submit and my son spent a long time formatting it so that it looked professional. The problems were: 1. I centered a headline and the whole section came out centered. Obviously I wanted the headline centered and the rest in block form. If it weren't for someone who was totally sighted it would have gone right by me. 2. My margins are eratic. Sometimes I hear the indentation as ".05" and other times the indent says "4.75." What do I do about this? My margins are set for one inch but obviously the computer has other ideas. 3. In my letterhead I don't skip lines between the name line, address etc. But according to my son there are skipped lines. When I read it back with jaws there is no skipped line but when submitting something to the sighted world I'm not advertising my eyes, just my work. If anyone has any ideas as to how to adjust all these problems I would greatly appreciate it.
