Lois,
I agree with you, and I emphasize that these are normal Windows commands.I 
don't understand why there needs to be a Jaws version of this function. 
Does anyone know?

Control Insert f works; but you only need to press control f.  Then, if
there are more than one incidence  of your search string,  press f3  on the
function  keys,  till you reach the one you want.
