P.S. I just looked under Tool/Options in my Outlook Express, and I can't find where I found this setting, I'm sorry to say. Maybe the settings are in another part of the options menu, but I don't have time to investigate this right now as I have to rush off. Sorry not to have been able to be more specific about this. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 8:39 AM Subject: Re: emails having to many >>> in them Allen, Of course you're right, that you can set Outlook and Outlook Express not to mark quoted messages in email that you yourself reply to or forward, and so you won't be contributing to the mess. these settings can be found in Tools/Option on the Send tab. But I think what the person really wants is a way to avoid having to see, or hear, actually, marks on the replies and forwards they receive, which come to them that way. This can't be changed by doing anything in one's on email client's settings. sc0quot4d ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allan Wong" <allanwkf@xxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 26, 2007 8:26 AM Subject: Re: emails having to many >>> in them hi friends, why should need another program, if you are OE user, you can disable the > sign during you hit reply. if you not sure how to do so, try the following steps: 1. in OE, press alt+t for tools, then "o" for options... 2. go to tab number 4, that is General tab, read tab, receipts tab, send tab. but of course there is other tab, but you need to select the "send tab". 3. tab down until you hear "international settings button". here have 2 thing you should care about, if you choose send email with HTML, then you should tab to HTML setting and if you choose to send email with plain text, then you tab to plain text setting. in my case, i choose "plain text". 4. in the setting page, you will see one option call "Indent the original text with", if you check this checkbox, you will have 3 choyce either ">", "|" and ":". the default is ">". if you uncheck this checkbox, all your replys will not include such simbol anymore. so, others people will be more happyer.
