I think we need to change the subject line to something like "defining Mea
Culpa." This is an interesting discussion.

"Mea culpa" is Latin, coming from the Catholic Church, meaning roughly,
"Sorry, my bad." It's the kind of expression, like the Hebrew "mazel tov," that
gives a human touch to religion.

Good point Douglas. One of my pet peeves, and yet one of my greatest
failings.

It's just that jumping to the subject line to edit/replace it takes more
keystrokes than I usually want to perform.

May I put in a polite request for this list? Instead of using the same
subject line for EVERY message in a long thread, PLEASE read each message you
compose, and if the topic begins to drift or change, select a new subject line
to reflect more clearly the content of your current message. For example, if
you listers put together a thread called "Jaws and Firefox", and the topic
turns towards something about online education, then read carefully each
message you compose and change the subject line accordingly; give the line a
name more adequately reflecting the message's content. This will make it more
easy to find a particular message or store it in a pertinent folder or mailbox
and find it from there. Thanks for your respectful cooperation.
