With AVG version 7, you click the control center then go to the virus definitions tab and or the update tab. You then tab over to edit schedule. Press space on it. You can then choose what time AVG will test your system, update it's virus definitions, and program. This is most effectively done in the update manager which is one tab over from the far right in the control center. The virus definitions are updated using the virus definitions tab which is just 2 tabs over from the left most tab. (note, you will need to set your JAWS to read all text on the screen rather than just the highlighted text.) I haven't been able to do that. Am I missing something here? To update AVG you didn't have to go back to the web site at all. All you needed to do was to go in to the control center of AVG and go to the update tab and press the update button. AVG will do the rest for you. I have spent the better part of today trying to uninstall Norton Systemworks and install a v g. The uninstall went perfectly. Next I went to grisoft and downloaded the most current version of avg: avg70free_300a419.exe I installed that and then noticed that I needed to update the program. I returned to Grisoft and downloaded u7f3029k.bin That was saved to my desktop. I am unclear as to what I need to do with the update next, since the information on my avg footer refers to the fact that my data base is not up to date. Also when I just logged on again, I was given the same message, immediately after log on, "AVG Control Center; your data base is out of date." What do I need to do with the update that now lives on my desktop? Please be specific and detailed in any help you may offer to install that update. I assume that I am not really protected thoroughly by avg at the moment. Thanks very much for helping as you always do. -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
