Steve,

Your advice is sound, but you should mention that it only applies if the
columns are created by using the Word columns feature.  If they're
created any other way (the tables feature is the most common alternative
method), normal view will have no effect, and she will have to use the
table column reading jaws commands.  If they are created by someone
placing text boxes side-by-side, then things get even more difficult.
