If i were you, i'll buy a 64 bit compatible system but unless you need a lot of
processing power and memory put 32 bit win7 on it. If you don't realy need 64
bit don't get it as it has some minor buggs with some programs. If you however
decide on 64 bit, make sure the pc have a lot of memory otherwise it wil be
slow for no reason. I don't know what you use it for but 32 bit remains the
best for a every day normal pc.

Hi,
I'd say go ahead with your decision - 64-bit system would be
fine. Besides, 64-bit processors can handle 32-bit operating
system
smoothly (such is my laptop).
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: Whether to buy a 32 bit or 64 bit new computer

Hi everyone:

Recently, my wife's 32 bit Windows XP computer packed up.

Now we are in the decision process as to what computer to buy.

Given that most manufacturers are not yet fully geared up for 64
bit
processors, would it be a good idea to purchase a 64 bit computer
but run
Windows 7, 32 bit operating system in the mean-time and upgrade
to Windows
7, 64 bit, in a year or so?

Our current license for JAWS is for Version 9, Professional
edition.

The other day, we purchased the upgrade to Version 12
Professional Edition,
for a total cost of $750.00 U.S, including an SMA.

All comments are welcome.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
