Hi Wayne,
First, JAWS is et to read by line. Second, this happens in all applications.
Third, its relatively random, but once the voice goes into the jittery and/or
stuttering mode, it stays that way until unless I wait for it to stop. So if I
wait, then it won't do it on the next line, or even next several lines,
but then it goes back to the same problem.
I'm not sure that your suggestions apply because of the randomness of the
problem.
TerriLynne, can you provide more detail re the problem. I.e.
1. how are you reading when the problem occurs, (say line, say all etc.)
2. which applications are involved.
3. if you read the same piece of text a second time is the problem exactly the
same etc.
It sounds like there may be either
1. a problem with the settings for the sound card
or
2. some data is being spoken with another jfw voice.
You might take a look at any advanced settings for the sound card found in
volume control probably under the file menu. look for reverb echo etc.
