Dave:

After you press ENTER to turn on forms mode, press ALT+DOWN ARROW to turn on
the JAWS combo box list function. You should then be able to use the UP and
DOWN ARROW keys to move up and down the items in the combo box.

When you have found the item you want, press ALT+UP ARROW to turn off the JAWS
combo box list function, then press ENTER to activate the option in the combo
box.

I first press ENTER to activate forms mode in these circumstances, because I
have found that pressing ALT+DOWN ARROW first does not always open the combo
box.

Likewise, I press ALT+UP ARROW before I press ENTER, because I found the option
does not always get activated if I just press ENTER.

HTH

Sincerely:

Dave durber

  Tom and others,

I also vaguely recall a keystroke that allowed a combo box or editable list
to be opened without suffering the web page refreshing with each item as you
arrow down. Something similar to freezing the list to allow us to pick the
item. Wish I could remember that keystroke.

    Hi,
Try using alt+down arrow instead. That should do it.

Is there a way to force a combo box that automatically selects an option
when you arrow through it not to do this? I know how to do it in multi-select
lists and such, but not so much in combo boxes. The shift plus down arrow
doesn't seem to work here. Is there any other way? It's tedious having to wait
for a page to load each time when I'm going through a combo box of 349 items.

      Thanks so much.

      Samara
