Thanks! It's been bothering me all morning.

Dave,
You're thinking of a multiselect list box where you use shift+F8 and then
press Space Bar on the items you want to select.

Jerry, No, that's not quite what I recall. Something like a keystroke that
used one of the F# keys to not only open the list, but to allow us to move up
and down without each movement triggering a change in the web page.

How about first-letter navigation? I have one site where I can open a
combo box, select what I want it to do and just hit escape and wait for Jaws to
talk and the page is what I wanted.

Tom and others,
I also vaguely recall a keystroke that allowed a combo box or editable
list to be opened without suffering the web page refreshing with each item as
you arrow down. Something similar to freezing the list to allow us to pick the
item. Wish I could remember that keystroke.

Hi,
Try using alt+down arrow instead. That should do it.
Tom
keystroke.

Subject: Turning Off Auto-Select In Combo Boxes
Is there a way to force a combo box that automatically selects an
option when you arrow through it not to do this? I know how to do it in
multi-select lists and such, but not so much in combo boxes. The shift plus
down arrow doesn't seem to work here. Is there any other way? It's tedious
having to wait for a page to load each time when I'm going through a combo box
of 349 items.
Thanks so much.
Samara
