Trouble installing AVG

Has anyone had trouble installing AVG version 7.0 and using it with JAWS 5.0
new update?
I have managed to install it, but I can't get it to load the resident shield
and I don't think my email is covered either.
If anyone has had experience with this version of the program, please give me
some clues.
