Have you installed the latest version of the vista-ready driver for your camera? Also, have you installed all the latest Vista updates? If you have any other USB devices lying around, then try plugging them into the USB ports and see if they work. If they do, then this would likely rule out a problem with your USB controller. However, if the camera has its own controller, then you probably cannot use this device-substitution technique. If you have a fresh copy of your camera's drivers available, then you might try uninstalling, and then reinstalling the camera driver. Sometimes, this fixes errors like this.
