Thanks. Yes, EdSharp is my main editor of choice, as well. However, it generates a UTF-8 BOM (some kind of header at the top of each file) which breaks the sending of headers (E.G. error 404, error 403, etc) impossible. I have contacted the developer however. Will let you know if this problem is fixed. I was looking for an alternative editor to use meanwhile.

Hello again, Parham, Please disregard my prior recommendation of Crimson Editor. I have found a better solution for you. Have you ever tried something called EdSharp. It was written by a blind programmer named Jamal Mazrui and was designed to be inherently accessible. It supports utf8 among many many other char sets. It's an open-source programmer/developer's text editor. It also does some rtf word processing but mostly, it has features anyone who writes code can appreciate. I use it to write c++ and html and Javascript. I've found it very useful and perfectly accessible. It'll even convert stuff like pdf's to txt for you (minus the png's so openbook is still good for lots of that sort of thing) and laTX Just wasnt' sure about the utf-8 part. I am quite sure you can use it for php. Below, I have included two links for you. the first is to the documentation for EdSharp so you can have a look at it and determine if it's what you want. The second is a link to the self-extracting executible that installs EdSharp on your machine: Documentation: http://empowermentzone.com/EdSharp.htm Self-extracting Executible: http://www.empowermentzone.com/edsetup.exe It's an awesome text editor really. Try it out see what you think. It's free. Thanks. Alex M On 7/26/10, Alex Midence<alex.midence@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:Hi, Have you tried Crimson Editor? Never tried it myself but it's primarily designed for web development. Probably more geared towards html and its cousins than php but you may find that it can be made to work with php if you are coding from scratch. I'm sure an editor with the web as its main coding target would be good for saving in utf-8. There's also html kit. However, my client now requires his website to be in Farsi (Persian; the language spoken in Iran), and I am looking for an editor which supports UTF-8, and in which Jaws reads the unicode characters. Microsoft Word is such an editor, which is rather a word processor and not actually a code editor. Eclipse is good, however very heavy and with functionality that I will not ever use, not to mention that I have to tell it every time that I need to save the file as UTF-8. All I want is a notepad-like application in which Jaws reads what has been typed when they are out of the usual scope of ASCII symbols.
