Hi,
I'm afraid this isn't related to my question. Thanks anyway. I know that
these are functions available in Jaws. I was speaking specifically of the
operation of the pronunciation dictionary, nothing else.

features of the later versions of JAWS. Here's a post from Debbie
Scales from when JFW 5.0 came out that might help get you started:
Eric Damery sent me some tips on playing with sounds with Jaws 5.0 and
I
thought I would share one tip with you.
Currently in Outlook Express as you scroll up and down your message
list,
if you had a message from me with an attachment you would hear
attachment Debbie Scales.
Say instead of hearing the word attachment on a message with an
attachment,
you wanted to hear a whistle.
Here is how to accomplish this:
First you must relabel the attachment graphic.
Move up and down message list until you are highlighting one with an
attachment.
JAWS should say "attachment" when reading that item. Now,
RouteJAWSToPC
(JAWSKey+NumpadMinus on the desktop,
JAWSKey+LeftBracket on the Laptop) to move the JAWSCursor to the
highlighted item. Now left arrow until you hear the word "attachment"
spoken.
Press JAWSKey+G to start the Graphics Labeler, now type in
attachmentsound
for the label and press ENTER. That is the word attachment followed
by the
word sound, all lowercase and no spaces.
Now use the arrow keys to move up and down the list of messages.
Anytime
you come across a message with an attachment, you should hear this new
word attachmentsound instead of "attachment."
Okay now for the next step. Now let's associate the label
"attachmentsound"
to the whistle.
To do this, we need to use the Dictionary Manager. Press insert D for
the
dictionary manager. Press the space bar on the add button. Clear out
anything that might be in the edit field and type in attachmentsound.
Press
TAB once to go to the "Replacement
Word" edit box and type a space. This makes JAWS speech remain silent
when it finds this unique word. Press TAB again to move to the
Advanced
button and press the space bar. You're now in a list of
sounds. Arrow up and down the list of sounds and press the
space bar to listen to one. You can select any sound here, the whistle
is
one.
After you select your sound, press ENTER to close this dialog. Press
TAB
to move to the "OK" button and press the space bar. Press CTRL+S to
save
your new rule. Press ALT+F4 to close the Dictionary Manager.
Now try scrolling up and down your messages and see if you hear the
sound
when a message with an attachment is highlighted.
I haven't tried it with JAWS yet, but hope this helps.

No, I mean go to the FS website and look under what's new for the
various
versions, the changes and so on. Whenever you're upgrading to new
