I'm not sure what the problem is here. I am using Outlook 2003 with JAWS 6.1.1006 and I get attachments announced already, in fact I have always heard them announced. Set JAWS verbosity to show ALL graphics. Send yourself one message with no attachment and put in the subject line "no attachment in this message" then send yourself another message with an attachment and put in the subject line "I have an attachment". Then turn on the JAWS cursor and read the unlabeled graphics in the list view for those two messages. The one with the attachment has an unlabeled graphic that visually indicates an attachment. Just use insert G to lavel this graphic then turn the JAWS verbosity back to labeled.
