To silence the speech, press CTRL. a.. To open Narrator, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click Narrator. b.. To open Narrator using the keyboard, press CTRL+ESC, press R, type narrator, and then press ENTER. Or you can bring up Narrator by using the keystroke, "Start Button plus the letter U". c.. All it did was echo my keystrokes and gave me no clue whatsoever where I was. Then I couldn't exit it and ended up having to get a sighted neighbor anyway. Does Narrator have to be "primed" or configured somehow to make it usable?
