Have you tried tabbing from the item you want rather than pressing enter? I
have the same dictionary on my system, rather than use it online, and that's
how it works here.

To be clear, I arrow down the list. When I arrive at the item I want, I tab
into the next field. In fact, it takes three tabs to reach the definition
field.

Hi Dave, The problem is with merriam-webster.com For example if I enter the
word "anti" it shows that there are forty definitions. But when I hit enter
on the list box, forms mode comes on alright, but as soon as I up or down
arrow, it kicks me out of the list box, leaving me with

just the one definition. If I use their advanced search, I get , I think it
was seven of the forty. Thanks...Bob----- Original Message -----

Hello Bob:

What I meant to ask was, also give me an example where you have a multiple
choice of meanings for a word.

Sincerely:

Try Alt+downarrow when you're on the list, and see if that opens it. Then
you should be able to use the up/down arrow to scroll through the list. Then
tab away to any other element or button. It's been a while since I used JAWS
8 or 9, so working from memory.

I'm using JAW's 8, and wondering if there is a way to open a list box on a
web site. Its Webster's dictionary, and when there are multiple definitions,
i can only access the main one. Happy holidays to all...
