Hi Dick,

A fine name by the way! my Dad's name!. Anyway, I use a laptop at work with an external keyboard. Donna is right it is the caps key that controls the Jaws functions on the laptop. To set Jaws appropriately, go into Jaws and then hit alt, right arrow until you hear configuration manager. There should be a section for setting the keyboard. Choose Laptop from the list and hit okay or apply I forget wich. I don't know if that helps but that's what I did, and Jaws started to respond better.

The caps lock key is the Jaws key. You also have to go into all the
configuration managers to make changes.

Subject: Laptop keys?

Hello Group
I have a older Laptop and have been using a external keyboard with it, now I
need to start using the computer key board. What is the key used on the lap
top for the JFW key?
Is there a list of short cut keys for the laptop in JAWS on the computer?

Dick
