Please check your graphics drivers. Are they made or adopted by Dell?
I've had a Laptop and I've de-installed the adopted graphics driver and
installed the driver of the graphics manufacturer - this solves my
problem. If you are fully blind, it could be important to have someone
who could help you because jaws will not read anything during this
procedure in xp machines.

Before you do so, you are advised to create an reinstall system point
and let us know which graphics driver is installed.
Regards, Michael

If you are using two identical Dell computers, but JAWS runs sluggishly only
on one of them, this would suggest that the problem is with the computer and
not with JAWS. Have you performed routine disk maintenance and clean-up on
the slow machine?
