Come to think of it I was doing some experimenting with tethering the jaws cursor to the pc cursor. I have manage to fix the problem however. I tried to do an update to the latest version of Jaws and got an error that the update couldn't complete. I can't remember the error at present. I went to do a Jaws repare and that faled as well. I ended up totally removing Jaws and reinstalling it and restoring the Jaws factory default settings. That fixed it. Thanks for the tip on the tethering the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor though. I never thought of that one.

Doug,

You may have the JAWS cursor tethered to the PC cursor. Hold down Control and the JAWS key and press Keypad Minus. Hopefully, you will hear the message "JAWS cursor will not follow PC cursor." When the mouse pointer hovers over a menu, it will cause the behavior you are describing.

Subject: Jaws opening submenus of context menus

Hello List:
I have already sent this question to Freedom Scientific tech support but I am wondering if I can get an answer before tomorrow. This is truly driving me nuts!

Thanks to all for any help on this.

Doug

If I open a context menu using the applications key and arrow to an item that contains a sub menu, the sub menu automaticly seems to open. Pressing the left arrow key does not close the sub menu. Is this a Windows or Jaws problem? How do I fix this behaviour? This is making the use of a lot of my
applications almost useless.

Thanks in advance,

Doug
