in order for alt+f4 to bring up the shut down menu, you need to be focused
on the desktop. If you are focused on the jaws window or any other window,
that is what will close.

Thanks. I didn't know that would work because on an older computer, when I
hit alt+f4, it tried to shut off jaws.
