I experienced the same thing and found a menu bar on the screen. If I
double left click the menu bar it disappears and all works well until I open
MSWord again.

I have had this same issue with Word and Outlook 2002 forever. My work
around with Word is to close the document and then reopen it and ensure that
it is maximized. When composing a message in Outlook, I press ESC and
select Yes to save a copy of the message. I then go to the Drafts folder
and reopen the message and everything will work fine.

This has happened to me with Jaws 5.0 and 6.2 on both Windows 2000 and XP.
