You only need jaws pro if you have xp pro or one of the vista nt versions
Jaws (Non pro)works with xp home edition

I don't know if this will help. I had this probllem a while ago and can't
remember exactly what it was. Go to word document. Open the view menu and
hit the letter z. make sure it is at 100 percent. Also, when you go into
the view menu, make sure normal is checked. let me know if that works.
