Hi. Let me make this as clear as I can so we can all understand.
The extra SAPI 5 voices that are introduced with JAWS 8.0 are *not* available for download from the FS website. The only way you can get them is on a CD which FS will send you with your shipment of JAWS 8, which most people who have Software maintance agreements should've already received, that is unless you just got one a couple days ago. You can most certainly download JAWS 8 from the Freedom Scientific website, however!!!! it does *not* contain the SAPI 5 voices. Again, you can only get these voices on CD, and it will not cost you any extra for this CD, it is free. So there is no issue with the voices, they certainly work fine on most people's machines. Granted they may slow down your machine if you use them as your primary JAWS voice, however these voices are meant for reading purposes. Ok, let me see if I can explain this. In JAWS 8, there is a feature called use SAPI 5 during say all. What this means is that you can switch to one of these new, better sounding SAPI 5 voices simply by hitting the usual say-all command, which is the insert plus down arrow key combination. Again, this is meant for longer passages where you may want to read lots of text, or something similar. This feature is not turned on when you install JAWS 8 but it can be turned on by going into the JAWS configuration manager., and then going to the say all options dialogue. Simply choose your voice, the rate of speech and the punctuation that the voice will use and then press the ok button and save your changes with control plus s. I sincerely hope this clears up any questions about this thing.

Hi, this is the same question I have?
Adrian, you made a statement that the sapp voice cd ad on did not load,
is this what you were saying? If so,do the 7 free sappi voices that come
with 8 load now? I just ordered that package just to get the voices, it
was cheaper than buying the voicesindividually.

Tell me more about the voice issue if there be one?
Thanks
