Yall, I hit okay. I've done this in previous versions of jaws with absolutely no problem. I'm not a new jaws user. Been using it since 1999. There are some things in jaws I am not so familiar with, but the configuration manager is one that I've used lots and lots. In jaws 7.10 and 7.0 I have word set differently with the punctuation than the other applications, and it works in those versions. That's why this baffles me so much. I can see the changes when I look in the customize punctuation. In the word JSS file it shows all of the punctuation as all set to be spoken. But when I go into the synthesizer options it will not change from whatever the default.jss file is. It says controlled by synthesizer, but I did try to change it in the default to controlled by jaws to see would that change anything, and it won't! Soooo frustrating! I don't know... Thanks for trying to help yall. Vicki ----- Original Message ----- From: "G.W. You can save configuration manager till the cows come home, and the changes will not take effect if you did not hit OK after you made the changes. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Skarstad" <toonhead5@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, November 19, 2006 8:39 AM Subject: Re: Jaws 8 configuration problem! Hi. that's the point, she clearly stated that she saved the changes in the proper manner, yet JAWS 8 refuses to save her settings.
