Thanks, I'll try it.  The thing is it's acting like its buffering the
large block of text it's reading or something.  To be more precise, I'll
hit the Control key and it will finally halt JAWS speech in mid-stream,
but it takes several seconds before it does.  Strange.

Try playing with your say all settings under the configuration manager.
Set 
it to line without pauses.
