Hi, yes speakup works grait and will get help you get the hole thing
installed and working with no problem. =20
http://www.linux-speakup.org=20
Also gnome has a screen reader for it if you want a gui desktop under =
linux.
It is not as robust has jaws at this time but it has come a long way. =
For a
old but still useful review of this screen reader go to acbradio.org=20
http://www.acbradio.org=20
It also comes with software speech you can use this under gnome or using
speakup. The dectalk 5 works with gnome not sure if it works with =
speakup.
Freedom box has done a wonderful job making a very accessable web =
browser
for linux. Lynx also works well with speakup and sun micro systems has =
a
accessable web browser for gnome. If you get the java access bridge you =
can
use open office with gnome. =20
Note getting it all setup is not the easyist thing in the world linix =
still
has a lettle ways to go in that area but once you get it all setup you =
will
not have to worry about doing it again one thing we can not say about
windows. Note I am not a ms basher infact I have a lot of respect for =
ms
the fact is still that linux is more stable and more versital and =
cheaper
and the access software does not cost an arm and a leg. =20
Now if fs gw micro windowbridge.ws wanted to make a linux bassed access
program I am sure that access would come a long way the only main streem
access develiper who has done any thing at this time is baulm. It is to =
bad
that the other venders are not doing anything in this wonderful =
operating
system.=20

Jaws will not run on Linux.
I use secure crt to talk to my Linux server from one of my windows=20
computers. You can get speak up to get voice on a Linux computer. Louie
