Hi Ed, Our JAWS and voice recognition users (Dragon NaturallySpeaking Pro) use the "Supra H61N" headset from Plantronics (about $120.00). It has dual ear pads and a noise canceling microphone. We hook that to an "MX10 Headset Switcher Adapter" (about $150.00), also from Plantronics. We hook the MX10 to both the PC and to our phone system. It has settings and switches to match different phone systems (including single and multi-line systems), you can mute the mic, adjust volume separately on incoming and outgoing calls. The unit is about the size of, hmmm, of a cigarette pack. This has proved to be a good solution for all of us. I hope that helps, Jabo -----Original Message----- From: Edward Marquette [mailto:emarquette@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, January 26, 2004 8:13 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: JAWS and Headsets Even with a spacious office, coworkers can be annoyed listening to the mellifluous tones of my Dec Talk synthesizer powered by JAWS. Has anyone heard of a multi-function headset where one ear picks up the telephone, the other ear picks up the synthesizer, and the same headset microphone doubles as a telephone mouthpiece and computer microphone so that, by flipping a switch, one can go from talking on the phone to dictating to ones computer using, for example, J-SAY? I have researched this fairly extensively and have come up empty. Plantronics' system is one function short. Thanks!
