I can not speak for Jaws 8 as I have not upgraded yet from Jaws 5 and have
not purchased a braillenote yet either, (that's my next huge purchase.)  I
am presently using Jaws 5 with a powerbraille 40 braille display and Jaws
comes up in Braille a little before the speech comes for me. You might just 
check and make sure you have a Braille display selected.  I am not saying
you set up the installation incorrectly so please don't take it that way.
The reason I mentioned this as a possibility is that the first time I
performed the Jaws install I had forgotten to select my Braille display and 
Jaws was looking for the driver as I got a similar message to yours.  Take
care and I'll try and look up some more info for you.

Hi all,
Is there a way to have JAWS output information to a Braille display at
startup? I have a BrailleNote mPower and I'm finding that I have to reload
JAWS just to get it to output information in Braille as it says it couldn't 
load the Braille driver even though I have it set up correctly. I'm using
JAWS 8 and my connection method is bluetooth. Thanks in advance for the
help.
