Hi Chris: I can not speak for Jaws 8 as I have not upgraded yet from Jaws 5 and have not purchased a braillenote yet either, (that's my next huge purchase.) I am presently using Jaws 5 with a powerbraille 40 braille display and Jawscomes up in Braille a little before the speech comes for me. You might justcheck and make sure you have a Braille display selected. I am not saying you set up the installation incorrectly so please don't take it that way.
