Sorry Linda, just realised your response might have been for this message not mine. LOL

Is there a demo I can take a look at and see what scripting could be done?

Thanks,

Hi Rant (grin)

Ok, I didn't say more about Quickbooks because I didn't suppose most of the
list cared. So, here goes.

I use Quickbooks to keep the books for the restaurant we own and for our
home books because it is easier than having two packages. I am using QB
2004. I do have to use the JAWS cursor frequently. When I am in a
register, I can tab through the fields. It is true that I have to remember
what the fields are. It is frustrating sometimes, but I haven't found
another accounting package that works any better. If someone is actually
using QB and needs help, I would be glad to assist. Actual phone contact
for help would probably be best.

By the way, I keep learning new things about the software all the time. If I knew more about writing scripts, I would give it a try because I like QB.
Someday, I am going to learn how to write scripts and such. Linda

Chris,

I'm glad you posted further information about using Quicken 2008 "and having

no problems with it." It seems that FS hasn't officially supported Quicken since the 2003 version, and so people shouldn't expect to use later versions

without a good memory and proficiency with the JAWS cursor.

I recently saw a message on the list by someone who said they were using
QuickBooks, but they didn't say how they were performing this miracle. FS has never supported QuickBooks, and Ken Gould, who wrote a scripting manual,

was only able to make it work well with JAWS by creating custom scripts and
frames for his particular business.

My point is when someone posts a message saying that he's using a certain
application with JAWS with no problems or that a certain brand of computer works well with JFW, let's have more details. Is the application being used

with or without scripts? What parts of the application are being used? Is
it necessary to use the JAWS cursor to perform some or all functions?

If you tell us that your new computer works great with JAWS, give us not
only the brand but also the model number and operating system.

Rant over! Thank you!

Hello Peter.

You have to basically remember where you are in the register. The fields
are not labeled. If you are used to using Quicken any previous version
from
Quicken 2003 to Quicken 2008 it should work as expected. If you remember what the keystrokes are to get things done it should work fine. You will
have to use your Jaws cursor in certain places.

I hope this helps.

Chris.

Thanks, I'm downloading it to try now, although annoyingly you can't get
the

UK version anymore so wont be accessing my bank accounts online.

Is there any tips for using it with JAWS or does it all speak wonderfully?
For example when you tab to buttons do you then have to use the JAWS
cursor
to read what it says before it like with many programs these days. That
seemed to be the case with Quicken 2007.

Does anybody know what the latest version of Quicken is that JAWs
supports
and also whether that version will work with Vista.

Thanks

Hi, except for the title info at the top of the screen, my PC cursor is useless. Using the Jaws cursor, I can read what is on the screen, but I
am unable to click on the fields for e-mail address and password. I
hope
this makes sense, and thanks for your help. Norma
