JAWS 3.7U and MSN Messenger

Hello list members:
I have a friend using Windows ME and JAWS 3.7U. He installed MSN Messenger 6.2.
When he is in a message window, JAWS does not read the messages being received.
Should he downgrade to an earlier version of Messenger such as 4.6 so that the
JAWS scripts for Messenger will work? Your answer to this question will be
greatly appreciated.
