Sorry Robert.

Use the Find Files command.  With Win xp, it's windows key with the letter F,
arrow down to "files and folers".  Press enter.
In the field "all or part of ffilename", enter the string
*.tmp,*.chk,~*.*
Tab to the search button and press enter.

When all the results come back, you will see a listbox.  You could have
several hundred files.  Select All either with control-a or by going to the
edit menu with alt-e and arrow up to select-all.  Then, hit your delete key.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.
