How about a trick like this: When you're about to close the document,
select a unique string of words from where you want to resume reading when
you return, and copy the string to the Clipboard. Then control home to the
top of the document, create a blank line so you won't mix anything in with
the actual first text of the document, and then paste the string in. Save
the document and close it.

Now, when you return to the document, that string will be the first thing
you encounter. Press Control F for the find dialogue, type or paste those
words into the search edit box, and you'll be ebe taken right back to where
you were.
Hope that helps.
