Hi,
With all due respect, I just want to add that I have my Outlook Express set
to send and receive messages only in plain text, and I've never encountered
an incident where there really was an actual attachment involved in any
situation like this. And, conversely, no one ever finds themselves unable
to send me a file attachment in email, or me not knowing it's there because
OE and/or Jaws neglects to announce it.
Not contradicting the below, just fleshing out my experience for comparison.

This can some times happen when the email is sent in a Rich Text format.
Jaws announces the attachment yet you cannot get to it. When it is
reformatted to plain text then the attachment can be opened. Don't know if
this is your particular problem but it is good to know for some one who may
not realize that.

Subject: "Ghost" Attachments Revisited
Hi, Can someone remind me again why JAWS announces attachments on certain E
mails when no such actual attachments exist?
Also, certain daily e mails from various lists have stopped coming to my In
Box and perhaps some JAWS setting or other is causing this interference but
I don't know the fix as no settings, to my knowledge, have been changed.
Any ideas welcome at

Enjoy your weekend! Mitch
