Yes I was afraid of something like that. That option really needs to be in the insert V dialog, so we could turn it on and off. Actually even more than that, what we really want is for that setting to only take effect on that page while we are in forms mode! I wonder if a script could be written that you could toggle that feature on, fill out your form, then toggle it back off with the keystroke. Really I kind of wonder why turning on forms mode doesn't already also do that. George do you agree with me though that this setting seems to do what we want? Only that it does it too good, grin. After filling out data in forms mode and clicking on the logg-in or continue button, it doesn't seem the form mode is automaticly turned off and focus doesn't come to the next screen. George R. The first two times the forms mode stayed up, the third time it dropped out of forms, but it may have been my fault by trying to logg in to fast. I will keep the setting and see if it causes other problems or if I have any more trouble with forms mode. Thanks so much, George R. In IE, press insert six for the configuration manager. Press alt S for the set options. Enter on HTML options. Control shfit tab to the MISC page. Tab to the "forms mode auto off checkbox" and uncheck it. Enter on okay, Press alt f4 to leave the configuration manager and enter on yes to save your changes. The only problem is I can't find this in the temporary insert V or personalized web settings list of items. So when you make this change, you make it permanent and it will be for all websites. So I don't know if it will cause problems anywhere or not, but you can try it and find out. This checkbox allows you to determine what happens when the current page is updated while you are in forms mode, either as a result of user action or server action. When checked, Forms Mode will be switched off. When not checked, Forms Mode will remain on. The default is checked. I'm trying to help Victor, but I have turned off page refresh, refresh of active X controls, inline frames, heck I even went into the internet options and turned off meta refresh. The darn thing still keeps refreshing and turning forms mode off. There is a TSN at the FS site http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?QC=587 The JAWS page refresh filter doesn't always work. I think this must be one of those sites. I checked the HTML and they are using javascript. ----- Original Message ----- From: "david poehlman" <david.poehlman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2004 1:05 PM Subject: Re: Forms mode turning itself off I'm wondering if you set page refresh to suppressed, if this might help. Much of the time when logging into my Discover account, after putting 2 or 3 numbers of my account number the system turns off forms mode. I then have to turn forms mode back on and continue with the input. This also happens occasionally with my Wachovia on-line banking account, not as offten as with Discover. This happens both in 5.0 and 5.10. I am using Windows 98(SE), JAWS5.10 on an AMD 550 mhz with 256 megs of memory. George R.
