I also had done that and that didn't help with this particular website
either.
I had turned off everything I could find in the custom level internet
options and also in jaws.

Hello there,

Yes, there is a way of turning of JavaScript in Internet Explorer from the
Internet options submenu of the Tools menu. You would proceed to the
Security tab and then to the set of security level buttons. You would then
choose the Custom Level Button and press the Enter key. You will then be
greeted with a tree structure. You must choose the Active Scripting branch
of the tree, expand it, and then check the Disable Active Scripting
checkbox. Then work your way out of the tree by pressing two OK buttons
that you will find in your exit path.

That having been said, it is necessary to understand that a number of web
sites use JavaScript as a necessary part of navigation within the site.
Thus turning off active scripting might very well cause errors or a total
inability to negotiate the site.

Thank you.

No it didn't. I'm trying to help Victor, but I have turned off page
refresh, refresh of active X controls, inline frames, heck I even went into
the internet options and turned off meta refresh. The darn thing still
keeps refreshing and turning forms mode off. There is a TSN at the FS site
http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?QC=3D587
The JAWS page refresh filter doesn't always work.

I think this must be one of those sites. I checked the HTML and they are
using javascript.

I'm wondering if you set page refresh to suppressed, if this might help.

Yes! Much of the time when logging into my Discover account, after putting 2
or 3 numbers of my account number the system turns off forms mode. I then
have to turn forms mode back on and continue with the input. This also
happens occasionally with my Wachovia on-line banking account, not as offten
as with Discover. This happens both in 5.0 and 5.10. I am using Windows
98(SE), JAWS5.10 on an AMD 550 mhz with 256 megs of memory. George R.

Help needed. When I work in a website with the forms mode on, after writing
a couple of words, forms mode turns itself off. Did anybody experience this
problem.

The website I am talking about is

www.americansingles.com

This specifically happen when I try to write an email message.

If you want to venture into the website, let me know I'll give you my
subscription info to get to that part. Otherwise, this site is the most
accessible dating sit I tried so far.

thank you
