Yes, remember that JAWS is a windows application that is completely 
separate from the windows operating system.  So many new users don't even 
realize that because the person helping with the access technology training 
installs and configures everything for them, so when they first get it, 
JAWS is already up and running.  But yes, you can not use JAWS to reformat 
your hard drive I'm afraid.  Before you follow the previous suggestions, 
please be sure to back up absolutely everything you might need. the 
reformat process deletes everything. it's kind of like wiping the slate 
clean and starting over from scratch. and having the sighted help is good 
too, I know it's not what we want but with this process being the way it is 
there doesn't appear to be any way I know of to give speech to the process.
