Problem is solved. I made the mistake of holding down the alt key and
trying to move through the list instead of just doing one alt down arrow.
Don't know why I did it that way, probably fried ride brains as it has been
around 113 degrees here the last few days.

Hi Rose:

I have encountered this problem several times. I route the JAWS cursor to
the PC cursor, with Forms Mode on, and use the JAWS cursor to read through
the list. Upon finding the selection I want, I use the "mouse keys", slash
for "left click" and * for "right click".

I hope I've been of some help.

Subject: Combo boxes

This is a problem for a work combo box so I cannot provide an URL but I
think we have all encountered this. This combo box is a "quick links" box
with about 30 items inside it. I press forms mode, then try to use the
arrow keys to move however, what ever item I land on first opens, so I can
never see what the options are in the box. First letter navigation will
open some items but if there are let's say several items that begin with H
the first one opens and I may have needed the third item. I am fairly
certain there is a way to handle this but am drawing a blank on how to
navigate this particular type of combo box, wish they all worked normally,
allowing up and down arrows to tell you the item but allowing you to view
the whole list and press enter or tab to a go button to select them.

I hope I am making sense and wish I could provide an URL but this is
something on the work intranet so I cannot provide an example.

Using Jaws 9 at home, 8 at work.
