RE: Checkboxes in Excel

The only way I'm aware of for getting checkboxes into a spreadsheet is
by putting them in a kind of graphics layer that JAWS cannot access. In
other words, although the checkbox can be positioned in the same place
as a cell, it isn't "in" the cell. Buttons can be created in the same
way, and I've never found a way of getting to them with the keyboard
either. I'd be very interested if someone has found a way to work these
types of controls.

At work I'm running JAWS 7 on one of my machines.
I'm running Excel 2003. I've been told that one of the sheets in my
Excel
document has checkboxes in it. But when I place my cursor on one of the
cells with a checkbox in it, JAWS doesn't tell me there's a checkbox
there.
In addition, when I try to check the box, JAWS won't check the box, not
with
a left-click, or the spacebar, or anything else.
Is there some special trick to this?
