I have Two systems here and Jaws works well with both. A HP Pavilion and a Sony Vaio.

I have a quick note about dell support. It might be worth your while to learn
where things are on the computer screen from a sighted perspective. The few
times I had to call in, they understood nothing of keyboard commands or what we
think of as the proper names for things. Be prepared for a lot of explaining.
Get something from a vender that will allow you to return it with a moneyback
guarantee. There's no rhyme or reason as to why jaws works well on some systems
and not on others. Laptops are harder to upgrade because of their proprioitary
technology from vender to vender. I.E. you can't just go and buy any video card
for a notebook if jaws has a problem with what you have.

Hi Heidi, Yes your question is broad, so I can only speak from my own
experience. As of this January I have combined a new Dell dimension 3000 PC
with Windows XP home and am now using Jaws 6.2 . I can't say mush about Dell
support due to the fact I have had no problems with the computer. One thing
for certain XP is a mush more stable system than Win 98. Hope this is some
help for you. Jim Talley (Coordinator) ASSISTIVE ASSOCIATES
