Hi. This is the language detection feature. To disable it temporarily, hit insert+v, hit l until you hear "language detection on, and hit space. Tab to close and that should disable it for your current session. To disable it permanently, go into the configuration file with jaws+6 while in Internet Explorer, hit alt+s for settings, then h for HTML, and then alt+l to uncheck the language detection box. Tab to OK, hit enter, alt+f4, and hit yes to the question about saving. That should disable it permanently. It's totally understandable, but annoying. I am using JFW 5.1 on our huge statewide XP-Pro Intranet system. How can I get my computer to stay in American English? Thanks. Take care...
