The .cda files are shortcuts that windows uses to get you to the actual tracks...I'll shut up now...

That's what I thought you meant. You should probably carry this to the PC-Audio list, as this is no longer JAWS-related, but I think you'll find you can't edit those files directly. You'll notice they're also about 4K in length, and are probably more for the purpose of place markers than anything else.
