Anyone have experience with a USB-to-RS-232 for a DecTalk?

Has anyone used a DecTalk serial synth through the USB port with one of =
those converters and is is successful? I have just joined for-the-people =
but Jaws with eloquence overpowers the chat and I can find no way to =
turn Jaws down without turning the chat down. I have a DecTalk and a =
LiteTalk, There is a parallel port on the LiteTalk which I may be able =
to use if I can figure out how I suppose. This ThinkPad doesn't have an =
RS-232 port.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
