Re: Any better solutions than Media Player 9 which came with X P? Or tips for using it with JAWS?

I've found the Winamp library to be far far superior to media player 9 if
you're looking for radio stations. sure media player 9 is usable as are
earlier versions, but if you're looking for streams on the net to listen
to, a vast number of them are on the shoutcast yellow pages. The latest
versions of Winamp going all the way back to the 2.9 series have the
library part built in. it uses standard windows conventions to find your
favorite stations. the one very small part where some people have a problem
is that in earlier versions you had to do some cursor routing to find the
place where you would change the max number of streams to fetch from the
directory but like I said this was fixed in later versions and is
accessible via the keyboard, although some people still have trouble with
it because it's still not immediately noticable. The latest version 5.03
claims to have fixed bugs with windows media in some areas but I'm still
unable to listen to streaming windows media with it. I load up the file to
listen in Winamp and nothing happens. so you'll still need windows media
til they get that sorted.
